Work in a small group environment with an experienced college advisor and essay “strategist” to develop a dynamic college essay.

Here’s what we’ll cover:

• What’s the purpose of the college essay & the qualities of a stand-out essay

• Samples of “good” and “not-so-good” essays

• Five brainstorming activities to develop a topic and an outline for your Common App or Apply Texas essay

• Five ways to start your essay

• Two approaches for writing your essay

• Revising your essay and how to know when it’s “finished”

 

Through this process, our goal is to help students find the inspiration to create a compelling, memorable essay that stands apart, and illustrates who they are beyond test scores and grades.
